Compton's New Media has published an interesting series of interactive multimedia software packages. Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia ($395) on CD ROM is an advanced interactive encyclopedia specifically designed for the computer and contains full motion video sequences. Other CD ROM releases are Jazz: A Multimedia History ($99.95) and USA Wars: Desert Storm with Coalition Command ($49.95). Both of these packages contain historical accounts complete with words, sound and pictures. After learning about Operation Desert Storm, you can play a game (on the CD ROM) which allows you take complete control of the Allied Coalition forces. Wild Learning Safari ($49.95) on diskette is an interactive activity book for children which features wild animal pictures with authentic animal sounds.
