E3 also offered a full and informative conference agenda which is normally sold out in advance. Topics ranged from strategy development and research, borderless marketing, licensing, focus testing, building communities, the fine art of co-promotions and the urge to merge. With a strong economy predicted for 1999 and a stronger desire by developers to learn and earn big bucks, E3 in the 21st century will be even bigger and better.
Next year, the new platforms should be officially announced. When they are, I will give you my business and cross industry perspective on where these exciting game developments may lead in the commercial and personal marketplace. The Internet and wireless communications, coupled with some well funded new players, should increase the development and deployment pace of these technologies in the home, office and transportation sectors worldwide. Stay tuned, we're on a rocket ride!
