This book gives Visual Basic developers the tools they need to create CGI applications using Visual Basic 4.0 or 5.0. This no-nonsense book gets started on CGI right away, in the first chapter, and describes CGI programming fundamentals showing VB code in the second chapter. On quick overview, this looks like a book that is appropriately named and concentrates on THIS very subject.
While the back cover of this book mentions that you can create "CGI solutions with the VB5 you already know -- without having to learn C++ or PERL!", he provides several real-world examples of useful CGI applications such as:
Parsing cookies and implementing "virtual" cookies
Full featured shopping cart application with SSL, e-mail to customers and credit card storage
Search engine with forward and backward capability
Security system that logs people into a web page
Active Server Page interfacing with Visual Basic CGI
