Stomp RecordNow
latest version announced
by Rick Smith (February 25, 2002)

Stomp announced the newest version of its RecordNow CD/DVD recording software.

Key features of RecordNow MAX 4.0 are:

  • Fresh new interface
  • Recording projects are easier and faster
  • improved MP3 ripping capabilities
  • rips CD tracks into MP3 at up to 320 Kb/sec
  • Converts MP3 and WAV to standard audio
  • Simultaneous, multiple drive recording
  • Simplified CD and DVD recording process
  • Disabled accessibility (Section 508 compliant)

RecordNow MAX 4.0 can create VCDs (video CDs), data CDs, DVDs, bootable CDs, CDs from ISO images and CDs from live audio sources.

Also included is special DLA (Drive Letter Access) software which makes your CD or DVD recorder act like a "giant" floppy drive. You can then easily drag and drop files onto your CD-RW or DVD+RW discs without any special "preparation". NeoDVDstandard is also included in the RecordNow MAX Platinum bundle.

Current users of the RecordNow MAX products, including RecordNow MAX 3.x or the RecordNow MAX Platinum bundle, can upgrade to version 4.0 for free.

RecordNow MAX runs on Windows PCs and requires:

  • Windows XP Home, XP Pro, 2000, ME, NT 4 (SP4+), 98 SE, or 95 (OSR-2) (but not plain 98)

  • Supported CD or DVD Recordable/Rewritable drive

RecordNow MAX will be soon be available in stores in March 2002 about $49. A free 30-day trial version is currently available from Stomp.
