Communication Intelligence Corporation (CIC) began to ship, via the Internet, Sign-itTM for Microsoft Word '97. This program allows you to be able to sign a document in Word `97! To ensure the integrity of a document after signing, Sign-it includes a document analyzer module which tracks the signature history of the document recording the user name, time, date, and reason for each signing. If the document is altered after the document has been signed, the Sign-it analyzer removes the signature from the document. It is an "off-the-shelf" solution to capture signatures within Word '97 based forms and will enable companies to deploy electronic forms capable of signature capture purchasing new application software. Although the ability to electronically sign a document has been missing in the 32 bit versions of Word, us "penners" (people using Pen Operating systems) have been able to sign documents using Word 6.0! Now everyone else can experience the power of the pen as we try to go "paperless" in the 21st century.
