Metacreations just released version 5 of Kai's Power Tools which promises to push the creative envelope of image manipulation tools with ten new or enhanced effects. With the latest version of the PhotoShop compatible plug-in suite, artists can now apply refracting glass effects (ShapeShifter), break an image into sphere clouds (Orb-It), and even render hair or smoke-like effects (FiberOptix). For fun, KPT also throws in real-time fractal generators including the new, mind-blowing Frax4D which lets you roam 4D fractals in 3D. Whoa! And, like, if you don't get the math and stuff, just commune with the colors, Man.
