Communication Intelligence Corporation announced their new version of Sign-it software, Sign-it for Acrobat 4.0. This version allows written signatures to be captured electronically and then "bound" to PDF (Portable Document Format) files created with Adobe Acrobat 4.0, enabling authors to protect their documents from unauthorized access or alterations. This electronically signed document is then protected, so it can then be securely shared and easily authenticated. Electronic forms processing and document workflow can now be more easily implemented and safely achieved in legal, financial, and governmental environments. With support from traditional applications, it appears that pen devices and applications are finally becoming more and more mainstream.
