11Mbps Network Connection Without Wires

3Com demonstrated its AirConnect family of wireless networking products today.
Based on the IEEE 802.11b (Wi-Fi) standard, AirConnect allows up to 63 PCs to access the company network wirelessly at 11Mbps from as much as 100 meters (300 feet) away from a wireless access point.
Perfect for conference rooms or small office groups where installing cable and multiple jacks is impractical, AirConnect lets you tap into the network from anywhere within range.
But, if you happen to wander out of optimal range, AirConnect gracefully downshifts transmission rates to the signal quality.
You can equip your notebook with an AirConnect PC Card for around $220 while a wireless access point will retail for about $1200.
