The Ford Thunderbolt is a custom truck that you can order directly from your Ford dealer as a factory option. This "version" was created by SLP Engineering, the same people that added the performance kick to the Pontiac Firehawk and the Chevrolet Camaro Z28. This customization includes hood scoop, chromed oval exhausts, rear deck lid, interior package and other performance enhancements

These custom changes make for a great looking truck -- with all the "add-ons" are covered by a factory warranty! I wish more manufacturers would create performance vehicles that are covered by a factory warranty.
I would also like to have seen higher performance from this truck, but you can only do so much for an extra few thousand dollars -- speed costs.

While trucks are becoming more popular, you see only a few performance trucks on the street. It will be interesting to see how the new Thunderbolt adds to this evolving marketplace.
