The XM radio is the latest in digital radio -- it is available by subscription for about $10 a month. GM is premiering this option in Cadillacs and will be rolling it out to their other divisions in the future.

While this radio will be popular in the mid to luxury market, only time will tell if it will be adopted in a majority of cars. (Their owners must also be willing to pay the subscription price each month.) But this is what people said about cable television and now it is a dominant force in the entertainment industry -- only time will tell.
